Yes, prizes are listed here! There
will also be door prizes and giveaways for the audience members
too.
The Battle of the Bands:
The B.O.B. Festival runs from June, 2006 through April, 2007.
All shows will take place in various venues, T.B.A. (Keep
checking the B.O.B. Schedule for
the latest updates.) Bands will be notified by e-mail (preferably)
or phone with the date, time, and place they will play.
We must receive verification that you are still entered after
you receive your time and date. Note: If you do not accept
your assignment, and / or cancel at any time, you will be disqualified
and will not be entitled to a refund. Refunds will only
be issued if B.O.B. cannot schedule your band. See Refund
Policy below.
Eligibility:
Bands, musical groups, and duos performing original music only,
(sorry, no cover tunes) consisting of two or more members, performing
"live" music on stage are eligible to enter.
Cover bands are not eligible. Solo artists are not eligible.
The entry fee is $40.00. For more information, contact

Bands must supply band name, a contact name, address, phone number,
e-mail address and web address if available, as well as an alternate
contact name, address, phone number, e-mail address and web address
if available, style of music, and if music contains any "bad"
language, violent content, or explicit sexual references (this
is needed to place bands in the appropriate venues). The
B.O.B. Festival will not accept bands with songs with hate, homophobia,
or racist materials. Also, if your audience is mostly under
age 21, please let us know so we can try to place you in an all-ages
venue.
Submitting press kits or bios and CDs or tapes are mandatory,
as part of your Registration Package. These materials will
be used for media advertising purposes, marketing purposes, and
to place bands in appropriate venues. Materials will not
be returned.

How to Register:
Registering for the WorldFolk B.O.B. Battle of the Bands is easy.

page. Both forms are required to register. All bands
must submit a Waiver Form.
For bands with members under 18, a separate Waiver
Form will also need to be submitted for each of those members,
signed by a parent or guardian. Download, print, and complete
these forms, and mail them to: WorldFolk Foundation, "BOB"
Battle of the Bands, PO Box 29053, Las Vegas NV 89126-3053, along
with a check or money order for $40.00 for the Registration Fee,
a press kit or bios, and a CD or tape demo. It is not necessary
for the CD or tape demo to be professionally produced.

get a 3-month membership at a special rate. Please note: You
will still be required to submit the B.O.B. Waiver
Form from this web-site in order to complete your registration.

Judging Criteria:
A panel of 3 judges will
score musicians using a point system. Judges will award
points in each category using a point system of 1 to 10, with
10 being the best. Bands will be judged on (1) Musicianship,
(2) Song Writing, (3) Originality, (4) Stage Presence, (5) Professionalism,
(6) Entertainment Value, and (7) Audience Response. Scores
will be posted on-line Here.
All judging will be final. If any of the bands in the top
three spots by the end of the Festival end up in a tie, we have
a tie-breaker system.
Each band plays a 30 minute set, only one time, in the B.O.B.
Festival. There are no "rounds" or "Finals."
The top three bands at the end of the Festival win! We
will contact the winners at the end of the Festival regarding
their prizes. (See B.O.B. Judging

Refund Policy:
Bands are asked to inform WorldFolk B.O.B. of any scheduling
conflicts they have on the Registration
Form. We will do our best to accommodate the scheduling
conflicts listed on your Registration Form.
If your band cancels for any reason or does not want to accept
their assigned spot, the band will be disqualified and refunds
will not be issued. WorldFolk B.O.B. is not responsible
for any scheduling conflicts that arise with any band that are
not listed on the Registration Form
sent in by any band. If your band disqualifies themselves
for any reason, including incomplete registrations, refunds will
not be issued. If your Registration Package is incomplete,
we will notify you by e-mail or phone and give you a deadline
to complete it. If you do not complete your Registration
Package by the deadline, we will consider you withdrawn from
the B.O.B. Festival and you will not receive a refund.
In the event that B.O.B. cannot schedule your band, then a refund
will be issued 10 days after the Festival ends. Failure
to comply with the Contest Rules may result in bands being disqualified.
If your band is disqualified, a refund will not be issued.
Conditions:
All bands agree to have
their name, voice, and / or likenesses used in any advertising,
marketing, or broadcasting material relating to this Contest
without any compensation or rights to royalties for such use.
Bands are responsible for their own transportation and lodging.
The WorldFolk Foundation reserves the right to make changes in
the Rules of the Contest at any time.
Failure to comply with the Contest Rules may result in bands
being disqualified.
