Judging Criteria update: 4/13/06
Bands will be judged
by a panel of 3 judges on the seven categories listed below.
* Musicianship - How well do you play your instruments,
sing?
* Visual Presentation - Stage Presence, clothes, costuming,
actions on stage, props, etc.
* Originality - What makes your band different, unique?
* Audience Response - How well does the audience like
you?
* Song Writing - How well are your songs written musically
and lyrically?
* Professionalism - Set up and break down time, acknowledgements,
introductions, etc.
* Overall Entertainment Value - How entertaining was your
band? Did you hold the interest of the audience?
There are no "Rounds" or "Finals."
Each band gets to play only one 30 minute set in the B.O.B. Festival.
Therefore, it is in the best interest of all bands to play to
the best of their ability. Bands must play all originals.
Sorry, no cover tunes. Your band will be scored with points
on a scale of 1 to 10 with ten being the highest in each of the
categories by a panel of 3 judges. For example, if a band
scores all 10's in every category, by all three judges, the maximum
score a band could receive is 210 points. Points will be
posted online, a few days after the show you play in, on the
B.O.B. Scores page. As the
Festival continues and more bands compete, your points won't
change, but your placing could change, therefore, bands should
frequently check the B.O.B. Scores
page. The bands with the top three scores at the end of
the Festival win, and will be contacted about their prizes at
that time. All scores posted by WorldFolk are final.
